The 16920 series is a null plus, trailing-edge static discharger. It consists of an aluminum shank section into which a distributed resistive element is inserted. The element is protected with a special thermo-fit shrink tubing to protect it against rain erosion. It is a light-weight discharger with stable DC resistance from -55 °C to +71 °C. Two versions of this static discharger also includes a StrikeGuard lightning protective coating which can redirect a lightning attachment from the trailing edge of the wing to the tip of the discharger thus protecting the wing surface from damage.
