Castrol Brayco® 599 is a premium, technical-grade dark amber synthetic turbine oil concentrate designed specifically as an anti-corrosion additive for aircraft gas turbine engines and helicopter transmission systems. Engineered to protect assemblies during extended storage or transit, this advanced formulation introduces robust rust-inhibiting features to standard synthetic lubricants. Brayco 599 is formulated to blend seamlessly at a recommended concentration of 10% to 15% by volume into synthetic turbine oils, transforming operational fluids into highly effective preservation mixtures that protect internal metallic architectures without causing seal degradation or viscosity instability.

Approved Specifications & OEM Conformance:
Castrol Brayco 599 is a defense and commercial aviation benchmark, carrying formal test authorizations and system approvals from leading engine manufacturers:
- General Electric: Approved under GE Specification D50TF6-S2 (Bulk Oil Storage Preservation)
- Pratt & Whitney: Fully qualified to PWA 556 standard parameters
- Rolls-Royce: Approved for specialized engine model preservation cycles
- Military Specification Alignment: Formulated for baseline integration with MIL-PRF-23699 Class Standard (STD) synthetic turbine engine lubricants
Key Features & Performance Benefits
- Targeted Electrochemical Barrier: Deposits a highly polarized, molecularly dense anti-rust film on interior components, stopping atmospheric oxidation in its tracks.
- Synthetic Elastomer Neutrality: Fully evaluated to prevent the swelling, shrinking, or cracking of standard viton, fluorocarbon, and silicone seals inside high-precision oil routings.
- Broad Thermal Stability Framework: High-flash formulation maintains baseline fluid performance and structural integration across severe sub-zero and elevated heat bands.
- Homogeneous Ester Blending: Dissolves instantly into base synthetic lubricants without separating, ensuring uniform distribution of corrosion inhibitors across complex oil cavities.
- Simplified De-Preservation: Engines stored with the recommended operational blend often do not require flush cycles prior to re-commissioning, lowering fleet labor and downtime.
Typical Applications
- Aircraft Engine Storage Preservation: Added to turbine sumps prior to long-term storage or inter-depot transit to safeguard internal bearings, compressor shafts, and accessory gearboxes.
- Helicopter Gearbox Preservation: Used in main and tail rotor transmission housings during assembly storage windows or ground staging in marine and coastal climates.
- Component Triage & Spare Parts Staging: Applied to critical replacement engine modules, pumps, and oil coolers held inside aviation supply warehouses.
- Industrial Aero-Derivative Gas Turbines: Extensively deployed on ground-based power generation and marine propulsion turbines placed in standby or seasonal shutdown modes.

2. Inventory Management (FIFO)
All products with an expiration date are managed and shipped on a strict "First In – First Out" (FIFO) basis.
3. Minimum Shipping Margin
Standard Guarantee: We will not ship any products with fewer than 30 days of use remaining (days before expiration), unless previously coordinated and agreed upon with the customer.
No Automatic Guarantees: Outside of this 30-day minimum margin, Aircraft Shop Supply does not make any automatic guarantee as to the specific length of time remaining on any shelf-life item for standard orders.
4. Special Customer Requirements
We understand that certain projects, maintenance schedules, or regulatory standards require strict specifications. If your order has specific shelf-life requirements, please proceed as follows:
How to Request: If you require a specific Date of Manufacture (DOM), Date of Expiration (DOE), or a specific minimum shelf-life percentage (%), you must clearly state this requirement:
In the Comments/Notes section when placing an online order.
Explicitly written on your Purchase Order (PO) or quote request email for offline orders.
