Aeriol Thixo EP2 Aviation Grease
Bell Consumable Ref Listing C-561
Aeriol Thixo EP2 Aviation Grease is a high-performance, multi-purpose grease specifically engineered for demanding lubrication needs in the aviation industry. It's designed to deliver outstanding results in extreme operating conditions, offering exceptional flexibility in its application across a wide range of aircraft components. This grease typically features an advanced thickening agent and superior additive technology, making it highly resistant to water washout and providing excellent thermal and oxidation stability. This contributes to longer component life and increased operational efficiency.
Key Characteristics:
- Broad Temperature Range: Effective across a wide range of temperatures, typically from -35°C to over 250°C (application dependent), ensuring performance in diverse aviation environments.
- Exceptional Water Washout Resistance: Maintains its lubricating properties even when exposed to water, which is critical for aircraft components.
- Outstanding Shear Stability: Resists thinning or breaking down under mechanical stress and high loads, ensuring consistent lubrication.
- Corrosion and Seizing Prevention: Formulated with additives that actively prevent rust, corrosion, and seizing of critical aircraft components, enhancing component longevity and safety.
- High Load Carrying Capacity: Capable of protecting against wear and scoring even under heavy loads and shock loading.
- Absolute Stability: Known for its overall stability and ability to maintain its characteristics over time.
- OEM Approved: Often approved and recommended for use in a wide range of specific aircraft models by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), particularly for helicopter applications.
Application in Aviation:
- Aeriol Thixo EP2 Aviation Grease is a versatile lubricant essential for the safe and efficient operation of various aircraft systems. Its robust formulation makes it suitable for:
- Helicopter Rotor Hubs and Bearing Assemblies: Critically used for components like main rotor hubs, trunnions, pitch horn bearing assemblies, and swashplate bearings, where high loads, vibration, and precise movement are present.
- Drives, Hub Sets, and Splines: Provides crucial lubrication and protection against rust, corrosion, and seizing in these interconnected mechanical systems.
- General Airframe Lubrication: Applicable to various other high-stress points on both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft where robust lubrication, wear protection, and corrosion prevention are required.
- Prevention of Rust and Seizing: Specifically used as a Corrosion Preventive Compound (CPC) for critical components, even for simple nuts and bolts, in addition to more complex assemblies.
