Flamemaster CS-3202 Class B Optical Sealant - High-Clarity, Flexible Sealant for Aircraft Optical Components
NSN: 8030-00-837-9935
CS 3202 adhesive sealing compound was designed to bond metal-tometal or glass-to-metal in optical or fire-control instruments. This specialized, high-performance sealant is engineered to provide excellent adhesion, flexibility, and exceptional optical clarity. Its Class B designation typically indicates specific application properties such as viscosity or flow rate, suitable for sealing optical elements like windows, lenses, and instrument covers in aircraft. This sealant helps maintain visibility, protects sensitive instruments from environmental factors, and ensures the reliable performance of optical systems in aviation.
Key Features for Aviation:
- High-performance sealant specifically designed for aircraft optical components.
- Provides exceptional optical clarity, ensuring unimpaired visibility through sealed areas.
- Offers excellent adhesion to common aircraft window and lens materials (e.g., acrylics, polycarbonates, glass).
- Provides good flexibility to accommodate thermal expansion and vibration in aircraft structures without cracking or crazing.
- Resistant to common aircraft environmental factors such as humidity, UV radiation, and temperature variations.
- Class B designation indicates specific handling and application characteristics suitable for optical sealing.
- Helps protect sensitive instruments and electronics from moisture and dust.
Typical Aviation Applications:
- Sealing aircraft windows and windshields.
- Sealing instrument covers and lenses in cockpit displays.
- Sealing optical sensors and viewing ports.
- Bonding and sealing transparent panels in aircraft structures.
- Use in the manufacturing and maintenance of commercial, military, and general aviation aircraft.
