Description
Flamemaster CS 3213 Class B Corrosion Inhibitive Sealant - High-Performance Sealant with Corrosion Protection for Aircraft
NSN 8030-01-184-0330
CS 3213 Class B aerospace sealant was designed for sealing metal components on aircraft systems for protection against corrosion. It acts as a barrier between dissimilar metals as well as protecting aluminum alloys against corrosion and is typically used for sealing faying surfaces and sealing joints.
Key Features for Aviation:
- High-performance sealant specifically designed for aircraft applications with integrated corrosion inhibition.
- Provides excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates like aluminum and composites.
- Offers good flexibility to accommodate movement and vibration in aircraft structures.
- Actively inhibits corrosion, protecting metal surfaces from degradation.
- Resistant to many common aircraft fluids and environmental conditions (always verify specific resistance).
- Class B designation indicates specific handling and application characteristics.
- Suitable for sealing faying surfaces, joints, and other areas prone to corrosion in aircraft.
Typical Aviation Applications:
- Sealing faying surfaces in airframe structures to prevent intergranular corrosion.
- Sealing around fasteners and rivets to inhibit corrosion.
- Sealing joints and seams where moisture ingress could lead to corrosion.
- Protecting dissimilar metal interfaces from galvanic corrosion.
- Use in the manufacturing and maintenance of commercial, military, and general aviation aircraft, particularly in environments with high corrosion risk.
Equivalent to: PPG PS870
