Flamemaster CS-247 Class B1/2 Aircraft Windshield Sealant (AMS3333 Type II)
The Flamemaster CS-247 Class B1/2 is a highly specialized, two-part, polysulfide sealant engineered explicitly for sealing transparent plastic windows and windshields in aerospace applications. Its formulation is non-crazing and non-fogging, meeting the stringent requirements of AMS3333 Type II, which is critical for maintaining optical clarity and structural integrity around sensitive acrylic and polycarbonate materials.
Typical Aviation Applications:
The CS-247 Class B1/2 is the preferred sealant for critical transparency sealing tasks:
-
Windshield and Window Filleting: Used to create the primary exterior fillet seal around cockpit windshields, passenger windows, and canopies (acrylic or polycarbonate).
-
Structural Sealing: Forms a resilient barrier between the frame and the transparent plastic, absorbing structural stress and thermal expansion without inducing crazing or cracking.
-
Fast-Turnaround MRO: The rapid 30-minute work life allows maintenance teams to complete sealing operations and proceed to the next stage of repair or inspection quickly.
