IPG MM (Mint Mask) High Temp Premium Paper Masking Tape
Interchangeable with 3M Performance Yellow Masking Tape 301
MM (Mint Mask) High Temp Premium Paper Masking Tape is a specialized, high-performance masking tape characterized by its distinctive mint green color and advanced adhesive system. It is specifically engineered to provide superior performance in high-temperature bake cycles and demanding industrial finishing processes, making it ideal for aviation applications. This tape features a smooth, robust paper backing combined with a pressure-sensitive rubber-based adhesive that ensures excellent adhesion, sharp paint lines, and clean, residue-free removal even after exposure to elevated temperatures (e.g., up to 300°F/149°C for 30 minutes to an hour, or higher for shorter durations). Its conformability and resistance to bleed-through make it a premium choice for critical masking tasks.
Key Characteristics:
- Mint Green Color: Provides high visibility for easy identification of masked areas.
- High Temperature Resistance: Designed to withstand elevated temperatures, typically up to 300°F (149°C) for extended periods (e.g., 30-60 minutes), and even higher for shorter bursts, common in aerospace paint bake cycles.
- Premium Paper Backing: A strong, smooth, and saturated crepe paper backing that offers excellent conformability to curves and irregular surfaces while resisting tearing.
- Advanced Rubber-Based Adhesive: Formulated for strong, immediate tack, superior adhesion during high-temperature exposure, and clean, residue-free removal without ghosting or adhesive transfer.
- Sharp Paint Lines: Prevents paint bleed-through, ensuring crisp, professional paint edges.
- Excellent Wet Sanding Properties: Resists water penetration, making it suitable for wet sanding applications without degradation.
- UV Resistance: Often provides good UV resistance for some outdoor exposure, preventing adhesive breakdown or difficult removal.
- Consistent Unwind: Ensures smooth and easy dispensing from the roll, improving application efficiency.
- Strong Holding Power: Reliably holds masking materials in place during paint application and drying processes.
Application in Aviation:
- Component Finishing and Coating: Used in workshops for masking individual aircraft parts (e.g., engine cowlings, structural components, access panels) that undergo painting, powder coating, or other high-temperature finishing processes.
- Precise Stenciling: Ensures extremely sharp lines for stenciled markings, aircraft identification numbers, and intricate livery details, even with multiple coats and bake cycles.
- Primer and Topcoat Application: Reliably masks areas during the application of various aerospace primers and topcoats, many of which require heat curing.
- Repair and Touch-Up: Essential for precise masking during localized paint repairs or touch-ups on the airframe or components that might involve heat lamps or bake cycles.
- Composite Curing: Can be used in some composite manufacturing or repair processes that involve moderate heat, where masking is required.

At Aircraft Shop Supply, we are committed to shipping the highest quality and freshest product possible. To ensure efficient stock rotation and meet aviation industry standards, our inventory management is governed by the following policy:
1. Scope of Application
All Sales Channels: This policy applies to all orders processed by Aircraft Shop Supply, including but not limited to: website purchases, direct email orders, formal Purchase Orders (POs), phone orders, and contract agreements.
2. Inventory Management (FIFO)
All products with an expiration date are managed and shipped on a strict "First In – First Out" (FIFO) basis.

No Automatic Guarantees: Outside of this 30-day minimum margin, Aircraft Shop Supply does not make any automatic guarantee as to the specific length of time remaining on any shelf-life item for standard orders.
4. Special Customer Requirements
We understand that certain projects, maintenance schedules, or regulatory standards require strict specifications. If your order has specific shelf-life requirements, please proceed as follows:
How to Request: If you require a specific Date of Manufacture (DOM), Date of Expiration (DOE), or a specific minimum shelf-life percentage (%), you must clearly state this requirement:
In the Comments/Notes section when placing an online order.
Explicitly written on your Purchase Order (PO) or quote request email for offline orders.
Validation Process: Once your requirement is received:
We will ship your order if the available stock matches your specifications.
If we do not have the exact batch, we will contact you prior to shipping with the shelf-life percentage (%) or dates we have available for your acceptance.
5. Limitation of Liability and Validity of Information
To ensure transparency and manage expectations, the following terms and conditions apply:
Time-Limited Validity: Any information provided by our team regarding the remaining shelf-life percentage (%) is valid only at the exact time the inquiry is made. Due to high inventory turnover, availability is subject to change without prior notice.
