RADCOLUBE FR170 is a high-performance, fire-resistant, rust-inhibited synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluid manufactured in strict accordance with military specification MIL-PRF-46170E (Type I and Type II). Engineered primarily as a long-term rust-inhibiting recoil and hydraulic preservative fluid for military ground equipment, armored vehicles, missile systems, and aerospace hydraulic test rigs, Radcolube FR170 combines a high-flashpoint synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) base with advanced rust preventatives, anti-wear agents, and oxidation inhibitors. Designed as a direct fire-resistant alternative to conventional petroleum preservative fluids, FR170 prevents internal system corrosion during prolonged storage and inactive fleet periods while providing exceptional fire safety, shear stability, and hydraulic performance across extreme operating temperatures (-40°C to 204°C).

Approved Specifications & Military Conformance:
Radcolube FR170 holds official Quality Products List (QPL) status under defense and NATO military standards:
- MIL-PRF-46170E QPL Certified: Fully qualified under military standards for rust-inhibited synthetic hydraulic preservative fluids.
- NATO H-544 Specification: Standardized across allied forces for fire-resistant, rust-inhibited hydraulic and recoil system preservation.
- Enhanced Humidity & Rust Protection: Exceeds standard hydraulic oil specifications in humidity cabinet and salt fog testing to protect precision metal surfaces during long-term storage.
Key Features & Performance Benefits
- Superior Corrosion & Rust Inhibition: Fortified with high-capacity rust inhibitors that protect internal hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and recoil valves during extended equipment storage.
- High Flash Point Fire Safety: Flash point exceeding 200°C significantly reduces fire risks from hydraulic line leaks, thermal spikes, or combat conditions.
- Synthetic PAO Shear Stability: Maintains viscosity integrity under continuous high pressure and heavy mechanical shear without breaking down.
- Preservative & Operational Dual-Use: Functions both as a long-term storage preservative fluid and as a fully operational hydraulic fluid without requiring system draining prior to deployment.
Typical Applications
- Military Recoil & Hydraulic Systems: Primary fluid for artillery recoil mechanisms, missile launcher hydraulics, and armored vehicle power packs.
- Long-Term Hydraulic Equipment Storage: Used for flushing, filling, and preserving defense and industrial hydraulic systems during extended storage or overseas transport.
- Ground Support & Aerospace Test Equipment: Serves as a fire-resistant, corrosion-inhibited hydraulic fluid in GSE test stands, servicing carts, and stationary hydraulic loops.
lubrication of military equipment, cameras, and optical gear mechanisms.

No Automatic Guarantees: Outside of this 30-day minimum margin, Aircraft Shop Supply does not make any automatic guarantee as to the specific length of time remaining on any shelf-life item for standard orders.
4. Special Customer Requirements
We understand that certain projects, maintenance schedules, or regulatory standards require strict specifications. If your order has specific shelf-life requirements, please proceed as follows:
How to Request: If you require a specific Date of Manufacture (DOM), Date of Expiration (DOE), or a specific minimum shelf-life percentage (%), you must clearly state this requirement:
In the Comments/Notes section when placing an online order.
Explicitly written on your Purchase Order (PO) or quote request email for offline orders.
