RADCOLUBE FR282 is a premium, synthetic hydrocarbon-base fire-resistant hydraulic fluid specifically formulated for military, commercial, and naval aviation hydraulic power systems. Manufactured in strict compliance with military specification MIL-PRF-83282D(1), Radcolube FR282 delivers exceptional thermal stability, superior oxidation resistance, and robust anti-wear performance across high-pressure aircraft hydraulic loops. Engineered as a direct fire-resistant replacement for conventional mineral-based MIL-PRF-5606 fluids, FR282 features a high flash point, high fire point, and elevated auto-ignition temperature—drastically reducing the risk of fluid-induced aircraft fires caused by hydraulic line ruptures or battle damage.

Approved Specifications & Military Conformance:
Radcolube FR282 holds official Quality Products List (QPL) status under defense and NATO standards:
- MIL-PRF-83282D(1) QPL Certified: Fully qualified for military fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and naval support hydraulic systems.
- NATO H-537 Specification: Approved across NATO allied forces as a standardized fire-resistant synthetic hydraulic fluid.
- Cleanliness Standards: Packaged under cleanroom conditions to meet rigid particle count limits (NAS 1638 Class 5 / ISO 4406 standards) for high-precision servovalve protection.
Key Features & Performance Benefits
- Enhanced Fire Safety: Flash point exceeding 205°C significantly minimizes ignition hazards compared to lower-flashpoint MIL-PRF-5606 petroleum fluids.
- Exceptional Shear & Thermal Stability: Synthetic PAO base prevents viscosity breakdown under high mechanical shear and continuous high-temperature pump operation.
- Advanced Corrosion & Oxidation Inhibitors: Protects ferrous and non-ferrous hydraulic pump components, cylinders, and valves against rust and acid formation.
- Direct Drop-In Fluid Replacement: Mixes seamlessly with MIL-PRF-5606 systems without requiring system flush or seal material changes.
Typical Applications
- Aircraft Hydraulic Systems: Primary power fluid for flight controls, landing gear actuation, thrust reversers, and braking systems in military transport, fighter jet, and helicopter fleets.
- Naval & Shipboard Systems: Used in aircraft carrier catapults, elevator hydraulics, and deck-handling equipment where fire resistance is paramount.
- Ground Support Equipment (GSE): Essential fluid for military hydraulic servicing carts, flushing rigs, and test benches.
