Royal Adhesives WS-8020RC B2 Fuel Tank & Fuselage Sealant (AMS-S-8802 B / AMS3276 / CMNP021)

WS-8020 Class B is two-component manganese dioxide cured polysulfide sealant designed for fuel tank and fuselage applications. The cured sealant has excellent fuel resistance as well as outstanding sealing characteristics at temperatures ranging from -65F (54C) to 250F (121C), including intermittent exposure up to 360F (182C). WS-8020 Class B exhibits excellent elastomeric properties and retention after prolonged exposure to jet fuel and aviation gasoline.

The uncured product is a low sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. It cures at room temperature forming a resilient rubber, exhibiting outstanding sealing characteristics.

Applications:

• • Surface Preparation: Clean substrates with appropriate cleaning solutions using a lint-free cloth to remove contaminants like dirt, grease, and processing oils. Apply solvent to the cloth to avoid contaminating the solvent supply. Clean small areas at a time and wipe immediately to prevent redeposition. Repeat the process at least three times, using a fresh cloth each time.

  • Mixing: Thoroughly mix the two components in the specified ratio (100:12) until achieving a uniform color and consistency.

  • Application: Apply the mixed sealant using an extrusion gun or spatula, ensuring even coverage on the prepared surfaces.

  • Curing: Allow the sealant to cure at room temperature. The tack-free time is less than 9 hours, with full cure achieved in under 14 hours.
