Royco 308CA is a highly refined, mineral oil-based general-purpose lubricating and preservative oil engineered by LANXESS (Anderol Specialty Lubricants) for high-reliability military, aerospace, and industrial applications. Formulated with an advanced additive package, this low-temperature utility oil provides exceptional ferrous and yellow metal corrosion inhibition along with specialized water-displacing capabilities. Royco 308CA serves as a dual-action fluid that actively lubricates moving assemblies while depositing a persistent protective barrier film against environmental humidity, salt air, and oxidative stress. Engineered to maintain consistent fluid mobility in cold climates, it prevents component binding, freezing, and premature mechanical wear across severe operational envelopes.

Key Features & Performance Benefits
- Active Water Displacement: Formulated with surface-active chemistry that rapidly lifts, separates, and drives moisture out of internal mechanical tolerances to prevent crevice corrosion.
- Broad Thermal Fluidity Range: Exceptional low-temperature capabilities with a pour point below -60°C, ensuring reliable operations and startup protection in extreme sub-zero weather fields.
- Multi-Metal Protection: Delivers superior galvanic, ferrous, and yellow metal protection (passing ASTM D130 test protocols at 1A/1B ratings), avoiding micro-pitting on critical alloys.
- Robust Preservative Barrier: Leaves a high-adhesion film layer that passes the demanding 168-hour rust-ventilation chamber tests, extending part storage and transport life.
- Excellent Wear Reduction: Incorporates anti-wear chemistry that limits surface friction and contact scores under 4-ball wear configurations.
Typical Applications
- Small Arms and Weapons Preservation: Originally developed for the meticulous cleaning, field lubrication, and long-term storage preservation of automatic military weapons and tactical small arms systems.
- General Airframe Component Lubrication: Widely utilized on non-tactical assemblies, including cargo door linkages, piano hinges, access panels, mechanical locks, and non-shielded control paths.
- Small Engine Internal Storage: Deployed as a fogging and preservation fluid for grounding small utility engines; introduced into the air intake matrix to prevent gumming, internal rust, or valve binding during down periods.
- Industrial Support Equipment: Ideal for protecting electric motor shafts, driving chains, plant tooling assemblies, and tactical transit hardware stored in coastal or humid depot environments.
